How to feed the soul, you ask? Spend a night under the stars
“In the presence of nature, a wild delight runs through the man, in spite of real sorrows.” wrote Ralph Waldo Emerson. I have come to believe this over the past decade, whether camping in a bedouin tent in the desert or just a rustic cabin a bit secluded with a brook running through it. Getting out and into nature, falling asleep to the sounds of your surroundings while gazing into the stars and then waking up in that crisp, clean air is legitimate therapy and vacation. If vacations are transporting and rejuvenating experiences, a weekend in the woods is a true vacation. Who doesn’t want to experience a “wild delight”, right? The hindrance seems to be the gear, tools and extensive paraphernalia that are actually required. Luckily, there are more and more options popping up that are for the novice camper or the person who doesn’t have extensive time for the fuss, or let's face it, space to store the gear. Some of these are more “Glamping” (glamourous camping) than roughing it, but the benefits are the same; better mood, burn some calories, digital detox, and reconnect with yourself and those adventuresome souls camping with you.
