NEW CANAAN AND THE VICINITY, CT

LOWER FAIRFIELD COUNTY

The picturesque village of New Canaan is an interesting dichotomy that is at once considered the preppiest town in the US but equally known for the Harvard Five who created homes that were the complete antithesis of the traditional build in the 40’s and 50’s.  New Canaan is considered part of Connecticut's Gold Coast and has a wide range of architecture including historic New England colonials and farmhouses plus a signature town center with shops and fine dining.  With a 70 minute train ride, New Canaan is a perfect day trip that will get you back to the city without too much exertion.  This is a low maintenance cultured outing with an emphasis on architecture.
